Chicken Farm Art Center
The Old Chicken Farm Art Center, founded in 1971 as a place for artists to live and work, with help from a lot of friends, the Art Center has grown into a premier West Texas / San Angelo attraction.
The art center is comprised of 17 Art Studios, The Starkeeper Studio Gallery, Roots at the Silo House Restaurant and unique rooms in the Bed and Breakfast.
Throughout the year we host 1st Saturday each month with featured artists, great acoustic music with the Chicken Pickers, Blacksmiths at work and other fun activities.
Three major events include San Angelo ceramic event in April, the Sculpture show in October, and a huge 2 day Thanksgiving Open House in November.
Having worked with clay since 1960 through his death in 2019, Roger Allen lived through many stages of pottery making. In the early years Stoneware was Roger's thing, then he discovered COLOR and the rest was history. His legacy continues on with Allen Stoneware through his unique collections such as: The Starkeeper, Stripeware, Mermaids, Crazy Carved and more. Through the years sharing the wonderful world of art has always been Roger Allen's main objective and we're continuing his legacy.
